In a recent revelation, filmmaker Farah Khan shared that veteran actor Kamal Haasan rejected a role in ‘Main Hoon Na’. He shared interesting anecdote about his first film during a cooking Vlog. Khan’s latest video from Khan’s YouTube channel included Kamal Haasan’s daughter and actor Shruti.
During his conversation, Farah remembered the trip to Chennai to personally recite the actor-politician to tell the screenplay. She was convinced that she was perfectly fit for the part. “Kamal sir was my first choice for ‘Main Hoon Na’, but then Sunil Shetty played that role. I went to Chennai and heard the script in her office. She politely asked me to duck,” she shared.
This role was that of the opponent who opposed Major Ram (starred by SRK) in the film’s Indo-Pak Peace Mission Storyline. The role eventually went to Sunil Shetty. The actor’s performance was well received and became one of the main attractions of the film.
The ‘Main Hoon Na’ released in 2004 was directed by Farah Khan. It was led by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Members of other artists included Sushmita Sen, Zayed Khan and Amrita Rao. The film became an important commercial and important success. Its success was carried forward by memorable songs like ‘Tumse Milke’ and ‘Main Hoon Na’.
In the latest video, Shruti also portrayed an original composition and also portrayed South Indian food for Farah Khan. Both also talked about Shruti’s upcoming film ‘Cooli’.
