When Aamir Khan said that he would not like marriage at the age of 60
Aamir Khan is all set to formalize his relationship with Gauri Spratt through an intimate registered marriage. This development has revived his old comment that getting married at the age of 60 would not suit him.
Actor Aamir Khan, who is all set to formalize his relationship with Gauri Spratt in a close-knit ceremony, once said that marriage at the age of 60 would not be suitable for him. The actor, now 61, and Gauri, 47, are expected to have only their family and a small group of close friends present for the registered wedding.
While introducing Gauri to the media in 2025, Aamir had said, “Look, we are completely committed. And I have been married twice. But now at the age of 60, marriage probably won’t suit me. (Now getting married at the age of 60 would not suit me). But let’s see.”

Khan had also told the media that he was comfortable speaking about their relationship and laughingly said that he wouldn’t mind if the two of them joined for coffee. He added, “We’re committed now, and we felt we were safe enough in each other to tell you guys. And it’s better, I won’t have to hide things anymore. Tomorrow, if I go for coffee with her, you guys can join us too.”
As per India Today report, sources close to the actor recently said that the couple has recently decided to formalize their relationship. The source said, “They are both in a safe place and just wanted to celebrate their bond. They have already started preparations for the wedding, which will be an intimate event attended by family and close friends.”
In an interview to Navbharat Times, Aamir had also said, “I am very lucky that I met Gauri and our relationship started together. She is very nice, I feel at peace with her.”
He said, “Although I had a very close relationship with my ex-wives Kiran Rao and Reena Dutta, things did not work out. When you asked, I felt that I was very lucky that Gauri came into my life. We are very happy together. I feel that now I am complete.”
Although the guest list has not been officially confirmed, buzz in the industry is that Aamir’s friends and fellow superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan could be among the attendees depending on their availability. It is also being said that the couple is entering this new chapter with the support of both their families.
Aamir was first married to Reena Dutta, with whom he has two children, Junaid and Ira. She later married film producer Kiran Rao and the former couple has a son, Azad. Aamir and Kiran announced their separation in 2021.
On the professional front, Aamir Khan was last seen stars on the ground. The film was directed by RS Prasanna and produced by Aamir Khan Productions.
