WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook experienced outages for many users globally on Wednesday, disrupting communications and social media activities.

According to outage tracking website DownDetector, more than 50,000 Facebook users reported problems, including problems logging in, uploading posts and updating existing content. Instagram shut down for more than 23,000 users, many of whom were unable to access or update posts.

For many people, access to messages, posts and updates was either slow or unavailable altogether. The outages appear to affect both desktop and mobile versions of the platform.

Reports of problems began around 10:58 pm as Facebook users were having difficulty logging in and uploading posts. Existing posts also failed to update, leaving many users unable to interact with the platform.

Meta-owned Instagram also faced similar problems. Users reported being unable to access posts or update content. The app also crashed frequently, which increased the problems of many people.

WhatsApp users also faced several reporting issues in sending and receiving messages. The disruptions were tracked by the DownDetector platform, which showed an increase in complaints.

No official statement has been issued by Meta yet.
