Actor-producer Alec Baldwin can finally breathe a sigh of relief after the bruising lawsuit involving the Rust case was dismissed. Baldwin is optimistic about new movies or reality shows following the trial’s conclusion, but there could still be some legal troubles in store for the 30 Rock actor.
Baldwin faced trial for involuntary manslaughter following a tragic incident on the set of the film Rust, which resulted in the death of cinematographer Helena Hutchins and the injury of director Joel Souza. The trial began on July 12, but was abruptly dismissed just three days later due to a legal technicality. An emotional Baldwin expressed his gratitude to fans on Instagram after the verdict was announced.
Reality TV Show for the Baldwins
Alex Baldwin and his wife Hilaria will star in a new reality show called The Baldwins with their seven children. The show is set to begin soon and will be released sometime in 2025.
The film, backed by TLC, will focus on the untold life of Baldwin and his family.

Even though Alex has found a second lifeline in the criminal case, his legal troubles are far from over. There is also a civil angle to the Rust shooting case. Following the incident, Hutchins’ widower Matthew, who was also an executive producer on the film, filed a wrongful death lawsuit and it has yet to be fully addressed despite an October 2022 settlement. As a result of the shooting, several extras, including the production crew, have sued Baldwin, armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, and the production company, alleging negligence on set.

Yes, Rust will be released soon. Despite all the drama surrounding the film and the shooting being halted, the trial was later eclipsed. The shooting of the film will be completed in May 2023.
Reports suggest that the final film does not include scenes depicting rehearsals, where the misfire occurred with Helena Hutchins, Alec Baldwin, and Joel Souza. Critics and early previews have been positive about the film, though an official release date for Rust has not yet been announced.
