The public fight between Candace Owens and Turning Point USA has taken another turn as the two sides clashed over a Daily Mail report linking Charlie Kirk to her 2025 murder. On July 22, TPUSA spokesperson Andrew Colvet said the organization never received a request for comment before the story was published and questioned whether the article accurately reflected Erica Kirk’s views. Owens retracted and shared screenshots, in which he said the Daily Mail had contacted his team before publication, and challenged Colvet to take legal action if he believed the report contained fabricated quotes. The exchange becomes the latest chapter in their long-running dispute over Owens’ ongoing coverage of Charlie Kirk’s death.

The latest argument began when Andrew Colvet claimed TPUSA had not received any request for comment from the Daily Mail before its story was published.He wrote, “We never received any request for comment. We were told they tried to send one, but we didn’t get it. Strange that every other outlet on the planet knows how to reach us, including the Daily Mail.”Colvet also argued that the article did not reflect the way Erica Kirk spoke and said the newspaper later made major corrections. He added, “It’s unfortunate to see the Daily Mail doing the bidding of Candace Owens, who certainly used this as bait to rage on her show as they have no real evidence to discuss as they continue their very lucrative ‘investigation’. Maybe that anonymous source?”Owens responded by saying that he doubted Colvet’s version of events and urged him to seek correction if it was true.He wrote, “If this is true, and I highly doubt it, given its striking similarity to the article that was being written and led by Erica’s family friend Tracy Martin for US Magazine, then you should demand a public response and retraction from the Daily Mail.”A short time later, Owens posted screenshots, which he said proved that his team had received requests for comment before the article went live. The back and forth did not stop here. Colvet questioned why Owens did not share the email publicly before the article was published. He wrote, “Riddle me this, Candace… We all know what you do when an article comes out you don’t like. You publish emails, attack the reporter and attack on social media. Why didn’t you do that this time? Is it because you were involved in the scheme? Just asking questions.”Owens rejected the allegation and stated that she had already discussed the report on her show.She responded, “I literally did an entire episode responding to this article, genius. Please also stop complaining about ‘just asking questions’. ??? You’re under siege here. If you’re saying the reporter is fictionalizing quotes from Erica’s family friends, you should be legally involved. That’s an easy comeback to get. Literally this reporter will lose his job.
