Watch: US swimming team performed on AR Rahman’s song ‘Taal Se Taal’, Subhash Ghai reacted

An old video of the US swimming team is going viral on social media in which they are performing on AR Rahman’s song ‘Taal Se Taal’. Filmmaker Subhash Ghai has reacted to the viral video.

Subhash Ghai is very happy that the song ‘Taal’ from his film will be played at the World Aquatics Doha 2024.

Bollywood film director Subhash Ghai feels ‘blessed’ as the theme music of his 1999 film ‘Taal’, composed by world-renowned composer-singer AR Rahman, was used by the USA Women’s Artistic Swimming Team for their underwater choreography at the World Aquatics Doha 2024. The video of their one-month-old performance has been widely shared on social media.

In the video, a group of women swimmers are seen performing to the opening music of the song ‘Tal se tal mila’. Sharing a screenshot of the performance, Subhash Ghai wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “It’s not often that a Hindi film theme music becomes as iconic as ‘Taal’ (clapping emoji).”

He further added, “This was seen at the World Aquatics Doha 2024, which inspired the USA Artistic Swimming Team to showcase their unique performance to the music of Tal. I feel blessed… thank you all (heart and hug emoji) (sic).”

As soon as social media users saw the month-old video, they praised Rahman’s music and showered him with praise. One of them wrote, “Taal se taal is perfect for any cultural event… AR is truly the face of Indian music.” Another social media user said, “Awesome!” An ex user wrote, “This is a proud moment for all Indians and of course Indian music rocks.”

‘Taal Se Tal Mila’ is composed by A.R. Rahman and written by Anand Bakshi. This song is sung by Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan. This song is sung by Aishwarya Rai in the film.

The 1999 film Taal starred Aishwarya Rai, Akshaye Khanna and Anil Kapoor in the lead roles. It also featured Alok Nath, Mita Vashisht and Amrish Puri. The film became a hit upon release and won several awards.
