Following the mixed response to Kanguva, actor Suriya and director Siva visited a temple in Sholingur, Tamil Nadu. The film was released in theaters on 14 November.

Kanguva actor Suriya and director Siva visited Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in Sholingur, Ranipet on Tuesday, November 20. The visit comes days after the release of his magnum-opus film, Kanguva. The film received mixed reviews from critics and audiences from the day of its release. The fans present at the temple clicked pictures with Suriya and also shared them on all social media platforms.

Kanguva grossed over Rs 140 crore by the end of its opening weekend. This visit is seen as Surya and Shiva’s way of thanking God after the release of the film.

Kanguva received a lukewarm response from critics and audiences. It was criticized for its disorganized script and high-decibel audio issues. After widespread criticism, the producers cut 12 minutes of footage and fixed the audio problems.

The fantasy action drama hit the screens on November 14 amid massive anticipation. After the film received mixed reviews, Suriya’s actor-wife Jyothika defended the film, saying that the film has flaws but is still ‘a spectacle in cinema’.

Directed by Siva, Kanguva is based on two different timelines and features Suriya in two roles as Kanguva and Theodore Francis. The film starred Bobby Deol, Disha Patani, Natarajan Subramaniam, Karunas and many others in important roles.

According to reports, Kanguva is jointly produced by Studio Green and UV Creations on a massive budget of Rs 350 crore.
