Watch: Rajinikanth gets standing ovation at IFFI on completing 50 years in cinema
Rajinikanth received a standing ovation at the closing ceremony of the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI). He was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award for completing 50 years in the film industry.
In his speech at the event, the actor said that 50 years of acting in cinema feels like 10-15 years. The 73-year-old actor also said that if he had 100 more lives, he would like to be born as an actor and Rajinikanth.
In a clip of his speech that has gone viral, he can be heard saying, “50 years of acting in cinema feels like 10 or 15 years… If there are 100 more births, I would like to be born as an actor and Rajinikanth. All this respect goes to the people of the cinema industry and mainly.” Ennai Vaazhevikum Dheivangalana Tamil Makkal (Tamil people, the gods who keep me alive) (sic).
This year’s IFFI took place in Goa from 20 to 28 November.
