Salman Khan responded to trolls who claimed that he was scared after supporting the students’ protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar over the alleged NEET paper leak. A day after his original post on the issue, the 60-year-old shared two shirtless photos and used a caption to directly respond to the criticism.

In an earlier post, the 60-year-old man had appealed to students protesting against the alleged leak to return home. He said they should not worry about their safety or leave their parents worried.
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s post on setting up fast-track courts to punish those behind the alleged leaks, Salman wrote, “Students are on top priority from educational and security point of view, so they don’t have to worry and their parents are worried for them. Honorable Prime Minister has tweeted, and I am sure he will take strict action against all those who are responsible for this leak. Salman Khan also addressed social activist Sonam Wangchuk, who was on hunger strike for 26 days in support of the students. Urging him to end his fast, the actor wrote, “Sonam, it’s done brother. Don’t take it further. If you want, I will send you food from home.”

In a detailed statement on Wednesday, Salman had called the alleged leak a “very serious issue”. He said the protests had begun peacefully and urged that the movement should not be politicized. He also called for a fair, transparent and merit-based education system.

Actors including Hrithik Roshan, Alia Bhatt, Rajkummar Rao, R Madhavan, John Cusack, Sonakshi Sinha, Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah, Shabana Azmi, Prakash Raj and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap have also expressed solidarity and demanded accountability over the alleged paper leak.
