The first song from the upcoming Pujo release, Bohurupi, titled Shimul Polash, is out now. Featuring Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Kaushani Mukherjee, the song is sung by the original Bohurupi artists, Nanichora Das Baul and Shrestha Das.

The song beautifully depicts the journey of Bikram and Jhimli’s married life. It begins with Jhimli preparing for her wedding day, adorned with jewelry made of polash flowers, while Bikram arrives with his friends. The vibrant and joyous atmosphere of the wedding is clearly depicted in the song. After the wedding, Bikram and Jhimli begin their new life together, symbolized by a boat ride and a walk through distant landscapes. The song also offers a glimpse of their family-building journey. Notably, this is the first time Shiboprosad Mukherjee is seen dancing with Koushani Mukherjee.

Shiboprosad Mukherjee said, “The song Shimul Polash is a true tribute to the soil, sung by the original Bohurupi artistes Nanichora Das Baul and Shrestha Das, which is truly a masterpiece. The scene where Bikram and Jhimli are seen walking together in the distant landscape, which marks the beginning of their journey together as a family, will always remain my favourite shot from the song. It also holds a special place in my heart, as the audience will see me dancing for the first time and that too after my accident, despite the challenges. I was quite nervous dancing with Kaushani, who is a skilled and accomplished dancer.”

Sharing her experience, Jhimli aka Kaushani Mukherjee said, “This song is special as it beautifully depicts the relationship between Jhimli and Bikram. Shooting for this song was a beautiful yet challenging experience. For instance, there is a scene where I had to dance on muddy ground, which made it difficult to balance and stand. Also, I attended several pottery sessions to make clay pots for the song, which was a fascinating experience. We have worked very hard on this project, and it holds a very special place in my heart. I hope the audience loves it as much as we enjoyed making it.”

This song has also been composed by Nanichora Das Baul and he has also written the lyrics of the song.
