WATCH: Amaran star Sivakarthikeyan credits Yash for Kannada cinema success with KGF
Actor Sivakarthikeyan ‘praised’ Kannada actor Yash for his ‘remarkable’ contribution to the Kannada film industry. The Amarn actor was speaking during a special session at IFFI Goa 2024.
Tamil actor Sivakarthikeyan, who is currently enjoying the success of his latest blockbuster Amaranth, was one of the guests at a special session at IFFI Goa 2024 on Saturday, November 23. The actor talked about praising his co-actors to the audience and mentioned KGF star Yash. The 39-year-old actor-writer praised Yash’s contribution to the Kannada film industry and said he respects the actor for how he achieved success.
Sivakarthikeyan first took the name of Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar and said that he was someone from the film industry whom he had the privilege of knowing closely. He said, “In the Kannada film industry, the first person I know is Shiva Rajkumar sir. He always loves me and respects me.”
He then praised Yash for his ‘remarkable’ work in cinema. Sivakarthikeyan said, “I like everyone’s work. Whenever a good film comes, I watch it and I respect their work. But, what Yash did for the Kannada film industry is remarkable. When When KGF 1 came, it was the success of the Kannada industry, but when KGF 2 came, it was the success of the Indian film industry.”
The actor, who recently played the role of Major Mukund Varadarajan in Amaran, said that the success of KGF: Chapter 1 was labeled as the success of the Kannada film industry, but KGF 2 put the entire country on the global map. He praised Yash, saying, “What Yash did was remarkable. He not only took himself to another level, but also took his industry to the next level. I always admire Yash and wish him all the best.” Am.”
Meanwhile, it’s been 23 days since its release and Sivakarthikeyan’s Amaran is still running in theatres. The film has crossed the Rs 200 crore benchmark in India, while earning Rs 308 crore worldwide. It has emerged as the biggest film of the actor’s career and one of the biggest hits of Tamil Nadu this year.
