Actor Abhay Deol, who stars in Ban Tikki alongside Zeenat Aman and Shabana Azmi, shared behind-the-scenes pictures with Nushrat Bharucha, who makes a special cameo appearance. After Nusrat said that he did not like the pictures, Abhay demonstrated his sense of humor by making “subtle changes” to some of her pictures.

First, Abhay talks openly about Ban Tikki while talking to Dirty magazine. He said, “Bun Tikki is one of my favorite scripts, one of the top three scripts I have read so far in my career; it might even be number one. (I say that arrogantly, I am among the best in the world) I’m one to judge a script – well, I’m definitely one in the top five.) It’s a nice mix of mainstream with alternative, that’s how I would describe most films like Devdi, Oye Lucky, Socha Na. I would have done it, I would never get life again – All of these I used to call middle-of-the-road films, now I call them mainstream meets alternative, but this one packs a bigger punch.

Ban Tikki will have its world premiere on January 5 at the 36th Palm Springs International Film Festival 2025. The film is directed by Faraz Arif Ansari. It revolves around a child named Sanu and his single father Siddhant.

The film is financed by ace designer Manish Malhotra’s Stage 5 Productions and Mukesh Ambani’s Jio Studios. Apart from both the companies, Jyoti Deshpande, Dinesh Malhotra and Marijke D’Souza have also co-produced the film.
