Hrithik Roshan’s latest outing, War 2, recorded the actor’s biggest early weekend; However, it decreased by high expectations due to poor words-mouth. The film fell extensively on its first Monday, stopping its disappointing fate at the box office. Here the day-wise box office collection of War 2 is being compared with its predecessor War (2019) and Hrithik Roshan’s previous release fighter (2024).
War 2 records the biggest weekend for Hrithik Roshan, but still cannot match expectations
Directed by Ayan Mukherjee, War 2 opened with just Rs 28 crore on his debut day, the lowest inauguration in YRF Spy Universe films. It had a demonic inauguration of Rs 50.60 crore (Gandhi Jayati Holiday) in its prequel, war, that too, 7 years ago! On the other hand, the fighter had a net opening of Rs 23 crore.
Hrithik Roshan-JR NTR film collected Rs 45 crore on its second day, which benefited by Independence Day National Holiday. However, it saw another drop on Saturday and was almost flat by collecting about 26 crore rupees on Sunday.
In contrast, the war had collected 22 crore rupees on its second day, followed by Rs 20 crore and 27 crores on its third and fourth day respectively. The fighter’s own second day was Rs 38.50 crore, thanks to the Republic Day holiday. Apart from this, it gave Rs 26 crore and Rs 27 crore in the remaining two days.
War 2 wrapped its 4-day long weekend at a net of Rs 125 crore at the Hindi box office, which is more than the war (net worth Rs 119.60 crore) and the fighter (net of Rs 114.50 crore). However, one should note that the war was the release of Wednesday, so the war 2 and unlike fighter, it had an early weekend of 5-day. If we consider the first five -day collection of the three films, the 2019 detective action film will take the top position.
