Vivek Oberoi is one of the most honest actors of Bollywood, and he never shies away from sharing his honest feelings in interviews. Recently, the actor shared his views on open marriage and admitted that he does not understand it. He shared that he is a desi man and believes that there are some reasons why the concept of special relationships has lasted through the ages.
In a candid interview with MensXP, Vivek Oberoi, who has been married to Priyanka Alva for over a decade, discussed the concept of love marriage. They have a traditional view of marriages and emphasize the importance of exclusivity in marriages.
He shared, “I don’t understand the concept of open marriage. I don’t understand the definition of open exclusivity. Either you’re exclusive, or you’re nothing, there can be no such thing as open exclusivity.”
The actor, deeply rooted in his culture, explained that the concept does not match his values and he, as a typical Punjabi man, follows the traditional idea of marriage.
Vivek admitted that he is not made for the liberal view of open marriage as he believes that the age-old concept of exclusivity in marriage was created for a reason. He believes that some of the old practices will be wrong, but not all.
Oberoi highlighted his belief in the traditional commitment framework and said that he has a separate commitment to his wife Priyanka Alva. He said, “Every morning I wake up, look at her and I feel loved. Every once in a while I ask myself a question: Out of all the women in the universe, if I could choose anyone else would I choose her?” Will choose.” in the world? The answer is yes, I would still choose her, so if you can feel that every day of your life, every month, every ten years, it’s more liberating than an open marriage.”
Vivek Oberoi married Priyanka Alva on 29 October 2010. Alva is the daughter of a politician and former minister. The couple has two children, Vivaan Veer and Ameya Nirvana. On the work front, he will next be seen in Indra Kumar’s Masti 4 alongside Aftab Shivdasani and Riteish Deshmukh.
