Vivek Agnihotri takes Jib on John Abraham’s goal, stardom system slams in Bollywood
Director Vivek Agnihotri opened the challenges faced by John Abraham during the shooting of ‘Dhan Dhana Dhan Gol’. Criticizing Bollywood’s stardom system, he also slammed Bollywood’s stardom system.

Director Vivek Agnihotri recently recalled his shooting experience with John Abraham during ‘Dhan Dhana Dan Gol’ (2007). Agnihotri mentioned that he blamed the Bollywood stardom system and faced challenges working on the film with Abraham, which depends on the popular names.
In an interview in an interview with director of ‘The Bengal Files’ in an interview Dainik Bhaskar, Said that Abraham was cast in Sports-Drama as he was a footballer himself. He admitted that during the shooting of ‘Dhan Dhana Dhan Gol’, “a lot of problems occurred.”
Agnihotri said, “The entire ecosystem is dependent on the wisdom of an incompetent, very average average actor. How to marketing should be on the poster.”
He said, “Everyone was like this,” Come on John, he is a footballer. Similarly he became a part of the film. In all the scenes of John, we had to shoot his face and legs separately, “he said.
The director, without mentioning Abraham, mentioned the film ‘Dhan Dhana Dhan Gol’, and said, “If someone tells me to ‘reduce my dialogues’? Because you can’t say them at once? You cannot say five lines of dialogues at once. It is your problem. Then why are you taking so much money?”
Agnihotri directed ‘Dhan Dhana Dan Gol’, including Bipasha Basu, Arshad Warsi, Boman Irani, Raj Zutshi, Dalip Tahil, Dibyandu Bhattacharya and others.
The director recently launched a teaser for its upcoming political-drama ‘The Bengal Files’ on the basis of communal violence of the 1940s in undivided Bengal. Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumar, Puneet Isar and Saswata Chatterjee, among others, are among others.
Produced by Abhishek Aggarwal and Pallavi Joshi, the film is presented by Tej Narayan Aggarwal and IM Buddha Productions. ‘The Bengal Files’ is the third film in Agnihotri’s ‘Files’ series, which included the first ‘The Teshant Files’ and ‘The Kashmir Files’.
The film is scheduled to hit screen on 5 September 2025.
