Boil it, scramble it, bake it or cook it whole, the egg is a versatile ingredient that can be used in a multitude of ways. Thanks to social media, we come across many unique and sometimes bizarre ways of turning this ingredient into recipes. Speaking of bizarre, we recently came across a video on social media where a street vendor can be seen making an egg recipe that left netizens stunned. And it wasn’t just the presentation but also the ingredients used that left the internet confused. Can you guess what it is? Well, if you can’t tell, it’s a strawberry-based egg dish served inside a capsicum! Yes, you read that right!

In a now viral video shared by digital content creator Mayank Patel (@tasty_street_food), we can see a street vendor preparing this unusual dish. He begins by adding ample amount of oil in a pan. Next, he fries two whole capsicums – which are without stalks and seeds – in the same oil until their exteriors become crispy. To prepare the filling, the street vendor fries chopped onions, green onions, strawberries and yolk together. He then tops it with some chaat masala, chopped tomatoes and other spices. Next, he grates some paneer and adds mayonnaise to the mixture. The street vendor then mixes all the ingredients and mashes them to get a gravy-like consistency
But that’s not all. He then cracks two eggs on each capsicum and sets it aside to cook. Meanwhile, he prepares another spice mix using oil, onions, capsicum, strawberries, egg yolk, spices and chutney to add to this unique recipe. After mashing and cooking for a while, he pours the spice mix over the raw eggs in the capsicum. Wait, it’s not over yet. The street vendor concludes his recipe by pouring a generous amount of mayonnaise and strawberries over the capsicum and garnishes it with coriander leaves.

So far, this video has received 4.1 million views on Instagram. However, in the comments, many internet users have expressed their disappointment over this bizarre experiment. One user wrote, “Justice for strawberries”, while another commented sarcastically, “That was the best I have ever eaten. Typing from heaven.”
A third user commented, “That capsicum is a pain in the ass” while another internet user said, “She cooked everything except the eggs.” Two people also expressed surprise, writing, “Just one question, why??” and “Food poisoning is suspected.”
