Vir Das leaves big designers for Emmy Awards, invites new talents to design
Vir Das is going to host the International Emmy Awards in November and this time he is planning to wear Indian attire. He has shared a post inviting emerging designers to create his outfit for this special night.
Vir Das is all set to host the International Emmy Awards this November. In his recent social media post, the actor and comedian shared that he is planning to wear “something Indian from home” for the event. Instead of opting for a high-end designer suit, he expressed his desire to support and showcase emerging talent.
Vir Das shared a note on Instagram which read, “Ok guys. I am going to be the first Indian to host the International Emmy Awards. I am going to wear something Indian from home. I am not even going to wear any fancy designer. They have enough cash and clients. So we are going to launch someone new. So if you are an emerging designer, label, student and you can put together super formal stuff. Send us an email at contact@zazuproduction.com (sic).”
The actor further added, “I would like to attach detailed information about your accessories and experience. We get a lot of emails. I want to be clear. This is super duper ultra formal wear at a very high level for a very large audience. You have to make me look good in formal wear which is a job I assure you 🙂 It has to be Indian or Indo-Western fusion. I don’t need a tuxedo. We will pay you for your work, pay for the costume and give you credit. You have to work with my team to get the vision and design right. Cheers, V (sic).”
“Attention new designers,” Vir Das wrote in the caption. The post reads:
Reacting to the post, comedian Zakir Khan said, “Congratulations brother.” Designer Nikhil Mehra commented, “I will start a new label to be a part of it and dress you.” Mrunal Thakur called him the best.
earlier this month, Vir Das announces he will host the upcoming International Emmy AwardsHe shared a photo of himself on Instagram. The side note read, “Thank you for your support, an Indian Emmy host can’t wait to host the International Emmy Awards this year! Crazy. Thank you for inviting me. Extremely honoured and excited!” The 2024 International Emmy Awards will be held on November 25 in New York City.
Vir Das won the International Emmy Award for Comedy for his show Vir Das Landing in 2023. He was last seen in Call Me Bae alongside Ananya Panday, where he played the character of Satyajit Sen.
