Actor Vikrant Massey, who made his Bollywood debut with the 2013 film Lootera, has become a household name after starring in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s film 12th Fail. Vikrant is currently preparing for his next film Haseen Dilruba.
The actor recently discussed moral policing in Hindi cinema and how Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla’s popular song ‘Tu Hai Meri Kiran’ from the 1993 film Darr would have been rejected in today’s time.
Vikrant Massey shares his opinion on how today’s generation reviews ‘Tu Hai Meri Kiran’
During a recent interview with Times Now, Vikrant Massey shared his opinion that if the makers had created ‘Tu Hai Meri Kiran’ (Jaadoo Teri Nazar) in today’s time, the ‘marginal awakened’ generation would have ‘condemned’ it.
The ’12th Fail’ actor revealed that he was listening to this famous song of Juhi Chawla with someone at night.
He said, “If it was written in today’s date, then today’s generation, which is borderline woke, would have condemned this song as well. Where do you draw the line?”
Vikrant Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba talks about toxic love and attachment
Talking about portraying toxic love and infatuation in her upcoming film ‘Phir Aai Haseen Dillruba’, Vikrant said that the audience is “delusional” to believe that such love exists in the real world.
The actor further said that it is “unfortunate” that moral policing has entered the field of creative arts. He said that this has been “reflected” in the last 9 years, while adding that it “should not be a thing”.

In his career so far, Vikrant Massey has worked in films like Half Girlfriend, Dil Dhadakne Do, A Death in the Gunj, Lipstick Under My Burkha, Dolly, Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare and Haseen Dilruba.
He was last seen in Jio Cinema’s thriller Blackout earlier this year.
Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba is a sequel to the 2021 film Haseen Dilruba. The upcoming film stars Taapsee Pannu in the lead role. Sunny Kaushal is playing an important role in the film.
Besides this, Vikrant has films like Yaar Jigri, Sector 36, The Sabarmati Report and TME in his kitty.
