Vijay Verma rose to fame by playing villains on screen. He recently revealed that women were scared of him playing such negative roles, citing the example that singer Sunidhi Chauhan had asked him to stay away from after watching his film Pink.

During a conversation at the grand launch of Screen in Mumbai, the Darlings actor shared that his negative roles had a significant impact, with people hating him because of the believable characters he played on screen.

The actor, who played Jaane Jaan, also played negative roles in Pink, Dahad and Darlings. In these roles, his characters committed serious crimes against women, causing women to fear him in real life.

Sharing his experience, Vijay said, “A lot of beautiful girls and their mothers have told me that they are scared of me, and that bothered me. My introduction to the extremely evil men I played started with Pink.”

Even though the actor had a small role in the film, it made a big impact on the audience. He recalled an important incident when he saw women feeling intimidated during a women-only screening of his film Pink. Varma mentioned that the filmmakers had invited many famous women from the entertainment industry, including Sunidhi Chauhan.

However, the singer also had tears in his eyes after watching the soul-stirring film. Recalling her meeting with her at the event, she said, “I tried to console Sunidhi Chauhan, but she told me, ‘Don’t come near me. I am very scared of you.’ I was like, ‘Oh my God, what just happened?'”

Vijay was surprised by this reaction. However, the director of his film soon cornered him and appreciated his performance. Meanwhile, the actor has made a conscious effort to change people’s perceptions by playing positive or diverse roles, such as the role of a brave and resilient Captain Devi Sharan in IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack.

On the work front, Vijay Varma will next be seen in Ul Jalul Ishq directed by Vibhi Puri. It also stars Naseeruddin Shah and Sharib Hashmi in important roles. He is also shooting for the show Matka King with Kritika Kamra.
