Actor Vijay Deverakonda recently attended the success meeting of Rashmika Mandanna starrer ‘The Girlfriend’ as the chief guest of the event. During the event, Vijay spoke about how deeply the film affected him and praised the team for presenting a story that has sparked meaningful conversations in society.

Talking about his rumored fiancée Rashmika Mandanna, Vijay said, “I have seen Rashmika since the time of ‘Geeta Govindam’, and she is a Bhooma Devi (her character in ‘The Girlfriend’). From that point on she has become the woman she is today, where she decides to choose this kind of script at the peak of her career, and decides that this is a story she wants to tell – to see this journey, I am very proud of.” Feel proud.”

Speaking about the message of the film, Vijay said, “It’s sad that women in our society still face such problems. Relationships should be about respect, support and growing together. If you face issues, talk openly. This film gives people awareness. And if your partner still doesn’t listen, make your own decision – do what’s right for you.” Vijay also praised the performances of the cast, especially Dixit Shetty and Anu. “Dhikshit Shetty was excellent as Vikram, and Anu’s portrayal as Durga fulfilled my wish. Every woman has a friend like her.”

‘The Girlfriend’ has been on a steady rise at the box office since its release on November 7 with an excellent response from critics. Within six days of its release in theatres, the Telugu film has crossed the Rs 10 crore mark, and if it continues to perform at this pace, it may soon cross the Rs 20 crore mark.
