Actor Vicky Kaushal celebrated nine years of his debut film ‘Masaan’ in the lead role. On July 24, Vicky shared a still from the critically acclaimed film and expressed his gratitude towards its director Neeraj Ghaywan.

Sharing the photo, Vicky wrote, “9 years. Thank you @neeraj.ghaywan #Masaan.” ‘Masaan’ was released in 2015.

Vicky Kaushal started his career in the entertainment industry as an assistant director in ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’. He then played supporting roles in films like ‘Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana’ and ‘Bombay Velvet’. On July 25, 2015, he got his breakthrough by playing the lead role in ‘Masaan’ opposite Shweta Tripathi. The immense popularity of the film catapulted Vicky to stardom.

The story of ‘Masaan’ takes place in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. It intertwines two different stories which eventually connect with each other. Apart from Vicky Kaushal, the cast of the film includes Richa Chadha, Shweta Tripathi, Sanjay Mishra and Pankaj Tripathi.

Vicky was last seen in ‘Bad News’. The film also stars Tripati Dimri, Amy Virk and Neha Dhupia. The film is currently running in theatres.
