Vicky Kaushal, who was last seen in Anand Tiwari’s Bad Newz, has been a part of the Hindi film industry for over a decade. Vicky began his career as an assistant director in Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur series in 2012. His first role was in Kunal Kapoor and Huma Qureshi’s Luv Shav Te Chicken Khurana the same year. The Bad Newz actor recently revealed that he first goes to his father, veteran action director Sham Kaushal, and then wife Katrina Kaif for film advice.
During the latest interview with Bollywood Hungama, Vicky Kaushal was asked about the person who provides accurate information about the box office in the Kaushal family and helps him choose films in his career.
Vicky revealed that his family members advise him to listen to his heart and ask the actor to listen to his conscience when it comes to choosing a script.
Talking about script advice, the Bad Newz actor said, “I would first go to my father (Sham Kaushal) and then Katrina (Kaif) for script advice.” After the film’s release, he goes to his father to know about the box office.
The 36-year-old actor revealed how his father Shaam keeps him updated about the business of films at the box office. He said that whenever his father tells him about a particular box office business, the Sam Bahadur actor gets surprised and replies that he did not know that the film has earned big.
On the work front, Vicky Kaushal has worked in films such as Masaan, Sanju, Sam Bahadur, Zara Hat Ke Zara Bach Ke, Uri: The Surgical Strike, Sardar Udham and Raazi. He will also play a brief role in Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu-starrer Dunki in 2023.
Vicky’s latest film Bad Newz also stars Tripti Dimri and Amy Virk in lead roles. It was released on July 19.
He is now gearing up for his upcoming film ‘Chhava’. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film will see him playing the role of Sambhaji, the Maratha emperor, son of Chhatrapati Shivaji. It will be produced by Dinesh Vijan under the banner of Maddock Films.
