Veteran actor Bharat Kapoor passed away in Mumbai at the age of 80 after suffering from multiple organ failure. Actor Avtar Gill confirmed the news and said that his last rites were performed on Monday evening.

Veteran actor Bharat Kapoor died on Monday at the age of 80. He died at around 3:30 pm at Sion Hospital in Mumbai and his last rites were performed at 6:30 pm in the presence of family members and close friends.

Actor and close friend Avtar Gill confirmed the news India Today.

Sharing details about Kapoor’s death, Gill said, “I have just come from the cremation, it was done at 6:30 pm. He passed away today at 3 pm at Sion Hospital in Mumbai. He was not feeling well for the last three days. Many of his organs had started failing for the last three days.”

Bharat Kapoor was a well-known face of Hindi cinema and was active throughout the 1970s, 80s and 90s. Over the years, he built a strong body of work by portraying supporting characters, villains, and official roles such as police officers and lawyers.

Some of his notable films include noori (1979), Ram Balram (1980), love story (1981), market (1982), Slavery (1985), last way (1986), Satyamev Jayate (1987), Heaven (1990), God is witness (1992), and rang (1993).

He also acted in films like rain (1995), Husband going to in-laws house (1996), and later Meenakshi: A Tale of Three Cities (2004), reflects his long-term contribution to Hindi cinema.
