Varun Dhawan supports Samantha after doctor calls her ‘health illiterate’
Varun Dhawan supported Samantha after she was criticised by a doctor. Samantha also shared a statement today, July 5, and said that she is ‘not naive enough to strongly advocate for treatment.’
Actor Varun Dhawan lent his support to Samantha after a doctor criticised her for being “health illiterate”. Today, on July 5, Samantha shared a note on Instagram advising the use of hydrogen peroxide nebulisation. This caught the attention of The Liver Doc, who labelled her “health and science illiterate” and said that hydrogen peroxide nebulisation is “hazardous to health.”
The doctor then demanded that Samantha should go to jail. After Samantha reacted and mentioned the doctor’s criticism, her ‘Citadel’ co-star reacted to her post.
Varun expressed his support with a heart-shaped emoticon below her statement on Instagram.
Apart from Varun, Rhea Chakraborty also supported the actor and wrote, “Aloo aloo banne wale hain.”
Lakshmi Manchu commented below Samantha’s post and wrote, “Oh my love, haters gonna hate. Keep up your good work as it’s helping millions.”
In her statement, Samantha revealed that she had to take a variety of medications after being diagnosed with myositis (an auto-immune disease). She also said that many of these conventional treatments, which were expensive, did not work for her.
He then adopted alternative treatments after trial, error and research, and based on the doctor’s suggestions.
Samantha defended her decision, saying she was ‘not naive enough to strongly advocate for a treatment.’ She said she did it with good intentions because it could help many people who are not able to afford traditional healthcare.
He also targeted liver doctor aka Dr Cyriac AB Phillips without naming him and said that he could have argued with his doctor, whom he tagged in the Instagram post.
It all started when Samantha shared a photo with the following caption: “Before taking medication for a common viral, consider trying an alternative approach. One option is to nebulise with a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and distilled water. It works like magic. Avoid unnecessary use of pills #alternativemedicine @dr_mitra_basu_chhillar (sic).”
Earlier, The Liver Doc on X had her on their podcast where she was discussing with a guest the use of herbs like dandelion roots for liver detoxification.
