Vanavas plot

Vanavas has told the story of an elderly widower played by Nana Patekar who is still hurting his wife’s death and has come to know about dementia. When he decides to donate his house to a trust, his children try to leave him in Varanasi. Meanwhile, he meets a stranger and a crook, who is played by Ukrash Sharma, who cares for him and decides to reconcile him with his family.

The theme of the film is reminiscent of Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini’s gardener.

Cast and Crew of Vanavas

Directed by Anil Sharma, The Family-Drama film stars Nana Patekar, Ukrash Sharma, Simrat Kaur, Kushbo Sundar and Rajpal Yadav in the lead roles. It was written by Anil Sharma, Sunil Sirwaiya and Amjad Ali and produced by Suman Sharma. Produced by Zee Studios and produced by Anil Sharma Productions, it is co-built by Kamlesh Kannu, Gaurav Aggarwal, Rohit Chaudhary and Jawaharlal.

According to Pinkvilla’s review by Vanavas, the actors’ performances in the film are fine, but the film is not enough to overcome its pacing and predictability issues. Great themes are overched by a clinch story and a screenplay that does not attach or innovate.

This could have been a moving criticism on the abandonment of the elderly, but ends as a film that someone has appreciated his heart, but struggled to sit due to many of his shortcomings.
