Slaughter 2 earned Rs. It collected around Rs 75 lakh on Saturday, which was almost 70 per cent more than its opening day. Ideally, the film would have doubled its numbers on the first day, but the bounce is still reasonable, especially if it manages to grow further on Sunday.
In the first slaughter about Rs. 2022 grossed Rs 65 lakh during its entire run, while the sequel has almost doubled that figure within just two days. Therefore the total lifetime of Slaughter 2 is expected to be quite high. By any practical measure, this is a triumph of sorts for the film and deserves praise.
However, some sections of the business are unwilling to recognize the value in such results, with one portal even saying that “the second half really shouldn’t happen.” A film with no face value is likely to do about 10 times more business than its predecessor, even at a lower level of business, which clearly indicates some appreciation. To dismiss its existence outright is short-sighted.
Moreover, at a time when the industry suffers from a lack of releases for several weeks a year, it is counterproductive to discourage films that get at least some audience. Beyond the box office math, filmmaking is fundamentally an art, and the idea of suppressing films simply because they don’t attract mass audiences is deeply flawed.
The box office collection of Vadh 2 is as follows:
| Day | net |
|---|---|
| Friday | Rupee. 0.45 crore. |
| Saturday | Rupee. 0.75 crore. |
| Total | Rupee. 1.20 crores. |
Another release, Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain could not register any positive growth at the box office. This comedy drama will complete its entire journey till its unfortunate ending in its opening week itself.
