Ustad Amjad Ali Khan to perform for the first time in Riyadh, AR Rahman Next Slated

Indian culture, music, cinema and art are the taste of weather in Saudi Arabia. The Riyadh cultural calendar is packed with Indian highlights emphasizing interest in Indians.

In the latest offering, the Indian Embassy in Saudi capital Riyadh is organizing a music performance by Sarod Mestro Ustab Amjad Ali Khan on 6 February. This will be the first time that Sarod Legend will be done in Saudi Arabia, which has seen rapid liberalization. The performance, “Three Generation, One Melody”, is being held in collaboration with the Royal Commission for Riyadh city, along with Khan’s sons Ayan and Aman, will also be involved with his grandchildren Abeer and Zahan.

Indian Ambassador to Saudi Dr. Suhail Ajaj Khan told NDTV that for the first time in Saudi Arabia, this unique music performance is going to showcase the prosperity of Indian classical music.

He said, “Strong interest among Saudi friends towards this concert is a testimony to the popularity of Indian music, art and cinema in the state that has only deepened in recent years,” he said.

The cultural presence of India is deeply echoed in various fields of Saudi life, from food to entertainment, promotes a strong cultural exchange that enriches both societies. Many such programs have been seen in Saudi in the last few months.
