US stocks today: US stocks open lower ahead of Trump’s Iran deadline

Wall Street’s major indexes opened lower on Tuesday as investors weighed the U.S. And Iran’s comments were assessed for any signs of where the conflict was headed, ahead of President Donald Trump’s deadline for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average opened up 74.9 points, or 0.16%, at 46,744.76. The S&P 500 fell 9.9 points, or 0.15%, to 6,601.93, while the Nasdaq Composite lost 69.2 points, or 0.31%, to 21,927.087.
