US stocks today: S&P 500, Nasdaq open higher as investors weigh hopes for Mideast resolution

The S&P 500 and Nasdaq opened higher on Monday after the indexes marked their biggest weekly gains in four months in the last session, as investors gauged the prospects for an end to the Middle-East conflict.

The Dow Jones industrial average opened down 32.5 points, or 0.07%, at 46,472.2. The S&P 500 rose 5.0 points, or 0.08%, to 6,587.66 at the opening bell, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 60.6 points, or 0.28%, to 21,939.796.
