US stocks today: S&P 500, Nasdaq open higher after inflation data; Mideast in focus

S&P 500 And the Nasdaq opened higher on Friday after March inflation data, in line with expectations despite continued pressure from the Iran war, while investors assessed the stability of the ceasefire.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average opened up 13.6 points, or 0.03%, at 48,199.39. The S&P 500 rose 14.6 points, or 0.21%, to 6,839.24 at the opening bell, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 91.5 points, or 0.40%, to 22,913.91.
