Janhvi Kapoor’s ‘Uljhan’, which was earlier scheduled to release on July 5, will now release in August. In this film, Janhvi will be seen playing the role of an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer. The film also stars Gulshan Devaiah, Roshan Mathew, Meiyang Chang, Adil Hussain and Sachin Khedekar.

Janhvi’s film ‘Uljhan’ will release in theatres on August 2. Though the makers haven’t revealed the reason for the delay, it could be to avoid a clash with Prabhas’ ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ in the opening weekend. Sharing the new release date, Janhvi wrote, “#Uljhan is now all set to release in theatres near you on 2nd August! See you soon with some popcorn!”

In ‘Ulaj’, a young diplomat from a distinguished family of patriots embarks on an important international assignment, but becomes entangled in a dangerous conspiracy that threatens her personal safety and professional future. As she navigates this dangerous landscape, she faces dangerous challenges far from the familiar support of her homeland.

The teaser shows Janhvi as Suhana, capturing moments on her phone, checking confidential documents and stealthily sneaking into a government building. The tension reaches a peak with the sound of a gunshot, after which an ominous scene fades to black.

In a powerful moment, Suhana declared that betrayal was a matter of life and death, and stressed the dire need to neutralise threats or face elimination in order to protect the country.

Excited to be a part of ‘Uljhan’, Janhvi Kapoor said in a statement, “When I was asked about the script of Uljhan, I was instantly attracted to it as as an actor I always look for scripts that take me out of my comfort zone and playing a character based on the prestigious world of Indian Foreign Services was just that. As the name of the film suggests, my character and the story have many layers, emotions and parameters, which is challenging and exciting at the same time. I am thrilled for the audience to see me in this new role conceptualised by Sudhanshu who has a fresh approach to tackle this genre.
