Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman celebrated his birthday with a giant flower cake and a get-together with Deadpool and Wolverine director Shawn Levy. Jackman and Reynolds have been close friends for over a decade and have recently broken several box office records by raking in millions through the latest Marvel releases.
The Hollywood actors posted a picture on their social media accounts, in which the two are standing on either side of the cake. As far as their birthdays go, the Logan star will turn 56 on October 12, while Reynolds will turn 48 on October 23.
Shawn Levy, who joined in for later photos, also posed with the other two in front of a woodsy backdrop. “October is the best month for a friend’s birthday. A perfect day to celebrate early autumn with the two best people,” she wrote in her caption.
As for the three of them, although Jackman and Reynolds have been best friends, the 55-year-old has been friends with Levy for as long as he knew her. In conversation with People Magazine, the filmmaker revealed, “Hugh said, ‘For what it’s worth, if you ever meet Ryan Reynolds and work with him, you’re never going to stop.'”
She added, “Ryan and I have become extremely close friends,” adding that they often hang out together, noting that the two live only half a block apart.

Most recently, Levi and the Marvel stars were spotted together with Taylor Swift at the Jets-Chiefs game last year. The Grammy-winning musician also shared a photo of himself with Jackman and Reynolds following the success of the Marvel film.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Reynolds was attached to It End’s With Us as a writer for one of the crucial rooftop scenes starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. Additionally, The Proposal actor and Jackman starrer Deadpool & Wolverine releases on small screens on October 1, so fans can sit back and enjoy the cinematic marvel.
As for upcoming projects, Reynolds is expected to star in the new season of Red Notice alongside Gal Gadot and Dwayne Johnson.
