The release of Tu Ya Main, starring Adarsh Gaurav and Shanaya Kapoor in the lead roles, saw a huge decline of 50 percent on Valentine’s Day on Sunday. This is a significant drop compared to other releases. The film made only Rs. It earned Rs. 75 lakhs on first Sunday (3rd day) and its opening weekend earning was Rs. Earned Rs 2.85 crore at the Indian box office.
Produced by Color Yellow Productions and Bhanushali Studios, Tu Ya Main doesn’t have much fuel left as Sunday’s downfall has almost sealed its fate. However the film has received slightly better word-of-mouth than its rival release O’Romeo, which means there is some hope if it continues to captivate audiences in the long run. However, this is no easy task, especially for a film without a star.
As of now, the creature/horror survival thriller will not be able to ‘survive’ at the box office. Let’s see if it can deliver a weekday surprise and grab some respectable traction by the end of its theatrical run.
The box office collection of Tu Ya Main is as follows:
| Day | box office |
| 1 | Rupee. 60 lakhs |
| 2 | Rupee. 1.50 crores |
| 3 | Rupee. 75 lakhs |
| Total | Rupee. 2.85 crores |
For those unaware, the film Tu Ya Main is the story of a young modern couple’s survival against a crocodile.
