Torrent Pharmaceuticals on Friday reported a September quarter of Rs. It reported a 30 percent rise in its consolidated profit after tax at Rs 591 crore, helped by strong sales across markets.
The drug company in the July-September period of the last financial year made Rs. 453 crore in profit after tax was reported.
Torrent Pharma said in a regulatory filing that its revenue in the year-ago period was Rs. 2,889 crore in the second quarter against Rs. 3,302 crores.
The company said its India revenue during the period under review grew by 12 percent to Rs. 1,820 crore, due to outperformance in focus therapy.
In the second quarter, Brazil’s revenue was Rs. 318 crore and US sales at Rs. 337 crore, the drug maker said.
Shares of Torrent Pharma rose 0.70 percent on the BSE on Friday to Rs. 3,579.50 were closed.
