With a good balance of blockbusters, hits and successes, 2025 has been a great year for Malayalam cinema. The latest Christmas holiday release, Sarvam Maya, not only marked Nivin Pauly’s biggest solo debut but also recorded phenomenal performance over the weekend. The horror-comedy film outperformed last week’s Bha Bha Bha and registered a better extended opening weekend.
For the record, Sarvam Maya raised Rs. Earned more than. As per estimates, it earned Rs 18.30 crore in its 4-day long weekend in Kerala. The film achieved the third highest opening weekend of 2025 in its home state. It fell behind only two giants – L2 Empuraan and Thudaram. Both the films starring Mohanlal took a stellar opening and wrote box office history both in Kerala and abroad. L2 Empuraan has topped the list with the biggest opening weekends ever in Kerala. Its opening record was Rs. Earning of Rs 42.55 crore. Among 2025 releases, the second position is occupied by Leighton’s Thudaram, which had a weekend collection of Rs. 20.25 crores.
Sarvam Maya crossed the Ru of Bha Bha Bha. 17.50 crore over the weekend to take the third position, while the latter slipped to the fourth position. Both the films had a 4-day weekend.
