Like every year, the 2025 annual box office chart was dominated by Hollywood films, with only two outsiders making it to the list of highest-grossing films. Here are the top 10 highest-grossing movies of 2025 at the worldwide box office.
The Chinese film, Ne Zha 2, topped all charts and emerged as the highest-grossing film of 2025 at the worldwide box office. The animated film grossed over US$2.19 billion throughout its run, becoming one of the highest-grossing films of all time. It was the only film of 2025 to cross the US$2 billion mark.
Zootopia 2 and Avatar: Fire and Ash are currently playing in theaters. Both films are competing for second place. At the time of writing, Zootopia 2 is in second place with a global gross of US$1.58 billion. On the other hand, James Cameron’s film recently crossed the USD 1 billion mark, and is currently the third highest-grossing film of 2025. Based on its current trends, the film is likely to make its full debut around USD 1.50 billion to USD 1.70 billion, which is also the lifetime range of Zootopia 2. It will be interesting to see if Avatar: Fire and Ash can surpass Zootopia 2.
Lilo & Stitch ranked fourth with a worldwide box office collection of US$1.03 billion. Of the top 10 highest-grossing films, only four managed to cross the US$1 billion mark. A Minecraft movie, which is currently in fifth place, missed touching the billion mark by a slight margin. The film finished its total gross at US$958.1 million. Apart from Ne Jha 2, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle also made the top 10 list. These are the only two non-Hollywood films on this list. Check out the full list below.
