Google’s latest affordable smartphone, The Pixel 9A, is about to launch on March 19. Next to the launch, last year’s chief, Pixel 8 has received a large -scale price cut. At the time of writing the story, Pixel was listed with an estimated discount of Rs 30,000 from its original launch price on Flipkart. This has reduced the current selling price of Pixel 8 by Rs 50,000. It is for models with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. Flipkart shows a 34 percent discount on the listing model.

Buyers can get an additional discount of Rs 3,000, if they shop via EMI transactions using HDFC Credit Card. This means that Pixel 8 is currently available at an effective price of Rs 46,999.

On the other hand, the 256GB model of Pixel 8 is being sold at Rs 52,999. Customers can also get a discount of Rs 3,000 on this model, as long as the payment is made via EMI transactions using HDFC Credit Card. With two discounts simultaneously, the 256GB model of Pixel 8 will be priced at Rs 49,999
Compiring, with the current price cut, both models of Pixel 8 can now be purchased for less than Rs 50,000.

Meanwhile, beyond the launch of Pixel 9A, Pixel 8A is currently being sold at a discounted price. Below Rs 52,999, Pixel 8A was listed on Flipkart for Rs 37,999 at the time of writing the story. If purchases are done using Flipkart Axis Credit Card, there is an additional cashback of Rs 1,900.

The price fall for Pixel 8A and Pixel 8 is interesting, especially considering the expected price of Pixel 9A. The Google Pixel 9A is expected to be priced at $ 499 (about Rs 43,100) for 128GB variants in the US and $ 599 (about Rs 51,800) for 256GB model. While the base model retains the same price to the Pixel 8A, the high storage option sees an increase in $ 40 (about Rs 3,400).

This means, unless there is a large upgradation of Pixel 9A Pixel 8A, concessional prices can make Pixel 8 and Pixel 8A like more intelligent options.

Google Pixel 9A: What to expect

Google Pixel 9A is taking shape as a promising option in the mid-range smartphone category. Depending on the reports, Pixel 9A is expected to come up with a 6.3 -inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 3. Design-wise, it is similar to the pixel 9 and 9 Pro, which features round edges, an antenna lines with a large front-faceing camera and frame.

Pixel 9A is likely to run on Google’s tensor G4 chipset, which is paired with 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and storage options up to 256GB. Google may also include Titan M2 chip for additional protection.

In the camera department, rumors point to 48-megapixel main sensors and 13-megapixel ultra-wide lenses, appealing to enthusiasts towards photography. Battery performance can also improve, with a 5,100mAh battery supports 23W wired and 7.5W wireless charging.

Pixel 9A is also expected to offer an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Color options may include iris, obesidians, peony and porcelain for 128GB models, while the 256GB version may be limited to IRIS and Obidian.
