To everyone who watched my film: Madhavan dedicates Padma Shri to fans, family
After receiving the Padma Shri award from President Draupadi Murmu, actor R Madhavan shared a post on social media. He said that this honor has deepened his sense of responsibility and thanked cinema, fans and family.
Actor R Madhavan, reacting to being awarded the Padma Shri, said he feels “very humbled” and “deeply grateful” to receive one of the country’s highest civilian honours.
She shared a photo of the investiture ceremony, receiving the honor from President Draupadi Murmu. In a heartfelt note, he thanked the Government of India for recognizing his contribution to cinema. He also thanked the Maharashtra government for recommending his name and said that the honor is something he will remember throughout his life.

“I am extremely humbled and extremely grateful and truly honored to be awarded the Padma Shri.
He wrote, “Heartfelt gratitude to the Government of India for conferring on me one of the highest civilian honors of our country.”
The actor dedicated the award to his fans, acknowledging their unwavering support throughout his career. He said, “Today, I also feel a deep sense of responsibility. This recognition reminds me that every privilege brings with it a greater duty – to uphold the values of honesty, humility and excellence; to contribute meaningfully to the world of cinema that has given me everything; and to serve my country in whatever way I can.”
He concluded by saying, “I dedicate this honor to the magical world of cinema, to every artist and technician who has accompanied me and to my family who have been my strength, thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Priyanka Chopra reacted to the post and congratulated the actor, writing, “So worthy.” The Railway Main actor’s son, Vedant also commented on her post and wrote, “What an amazing achievement, so proud.”
Apart from R Madhavan, actor Mammootty and singer Alka Yagnik were also awarded the Padma Bhushan. Late actor Satish Shah’s brother Arvind Shah received the award on his behalf. This year the President approved 131 Padma awards, which include five Padma Vibhushan, 13 Padma Bhushan and 113 Padma Shri honours.

R Madhavan is known for his work in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and English language films. She started her acting journey in the early 1990s with popular Hindi television shows like Banegi Apni Baat, Sea Hawks, Ghar Jamai and Saaya.
Her breakthrough came in 2000 with Mani Ratnam’s acclaimed romantic drama Alai Payuthey, which established her as a leading star in Tamil cinema. She further strengthened her popularity with hits like Minnale and Dum Dum Dum, after which she won the hearts of Hindi audiences with Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, a film that achieved cult status over the years.
He was last seen in Aditya Dhar’s directorial venture Dhurandhar: The Revenge.
