celebrate ZNMDWith a journey of 13 memorable years of Tomatina Festival
Life will not happen again recently completed 13 years. The film’s actors Katrina Kaif, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol took to Instagram to share their favourite memories from the film. For obvious reasons, the Tomatina Festival held in the town of Bunol became a core memory for the cast and crew. Even after more than a decade, many share the same thoughts about a holiday in Spain that were shown in the film. Apart from a road trip along the Spanish coast, one would want to visit this small town at the peak of the European summer to experience the Tomatina Festival. For those unaware, the Tomatina Festival is celebrated every year on the last Wednesday of August, where everyone pours out on the streets to throw crushed tomatoes at each other. Imagine, Holi but with tomatoes (and without the skin damage).

View on InstagramLa Tomantina is held every year in the town of Bunol, near Valencia. Thousands of people from all corners of the globe participate in the “world’s biggest food fight”, where over one hundred metric tons of ripe tomatoes are thrown into the streets and at each other.
According to the official website, the festival was reportedly attended by 50,000 people in 2012, which is more than Bunol’s average population of 9,000. Now, only 20,000 lucky individuals are allowed to join in the tomato throwing activity.
Dozens of trucks loaded with tomatoes are parked in the Plaza del Pueblo. The fun fruit fight begins with a water cannon. The tomatoes are hurled mercilessly. The festival lasts for an hour before ending with a volley of water sprayed from the trucks onto the streets. Participants either wash themselves in the Bunol River or nearby residents shower passersby with water
