This year, Tamil cinema is believed to be the biggest box office in cinema, the thug life is killing the box office in a few days. The film opened its advance booking on today (Sunday, 1 June), four days before its release, and the reports are still decent at the Tamil box office.
Thugs cross the mark of Rs 2.50 crore in life advance booking
Coming Kamal Haasan, Trisha Krishnan, Silambaron, and Nasar, Thug Life has recorded a decent prior-selling of Rs 2.50 crore for the initial day on the turf of his house. The film has sold around 1.50 lakh tickets in 1275 shows in 200 cinemas in Tamil Nadu. The film is showing better trends than Amar, Ryan and Thanglan in the recently Tamil release. However, it will have to be raised soon to record an unprecedented opening at the box office.
Apart from Tamil Nadu, the film is watching solid pre -sales at the US box office. This has already exceeded the USD 315K advance in North America and is expected to open with the best carrier figures of Kamal Haasan in the region. Apart from this, the film is also registering strong progress in Malaysia and Sri Lanka. While the action drama has already received good pre-cells of 58k USD 58k in Malaysia, it has been seen around USD 9K Advance at the Sri Lankan box office.
Thug life in theaters from 5 June
The Thug Life is set to release in theaters on 5 June. The film will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada languages. It will hit the Hindi belt with Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 5. It will be interesting to see how the film performs at the box office.
