Alia Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan have always shared a great bond. They have worked together in the 2016 film Dear Zindagi and have also produced the 2022 dark comedy Darlings together. Recently, the film has completed two years of its release, so let’s once again look at that special moment when Alia revealed what King Khan messaged her after watching Darlings.
During the trailer launch event of Darlings in 2022, Alia Bhatt revealed how Shah Rukh Khan adopted the language used in the film and sent her a lovely message. Alia said, “Recently, he saw the film and he messaged me and he said in typical Darlings language, ‘Thank you darlings for doing this film.'”
During the event, Alia also talked about how she decided to produce the film. She revealed that director Jasmeet K Reen and producer Gaurav Verma approached her with the script in 2019. Alia explained how the story “shifted gears” during the narration and “surprised” her.
The Gangubai Kathiawadi actress revealed that the desire to turn producer came very naturally to her in Darlings. For those who don’t know, this was Alia’s first film as a producer.
Recalling Shah Rukh’s reaction, Alia said, “Then Shah Rukh called me and said, “I don’t usually co-produce, but I will do it with you and have a lot of fun. It will be great and it will be a memorable film.”
Darlings celebrates its second anniversary on August 5, 2024. The cast of the film includes Alia Bhatt, Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew. Alia and Vijay also posted special posts to celebrate this achievement.
Alia Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan have exciting films lined up for the future. Alia is gearing up for the release of her action thriller Zirgra, which she is producing along with Karan Johar. She is also currently busy shooting for her YRF Spy Universe film Zirgra. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh is all set to work with his daughter Suhana Khan in Sujoy Ghosh’s film King.
