Do you know that the superstar once refused to take credit for Satish Kaushik’s direction? Salman claimed that he did nothing in this cult film.

During his old interview with Lehren Retro, Salman Khan opened up about working in the 2003 film Tere Naam. Salman admitted that the superstar should not get the credit as he did not do much in the second half.

“There was nothing in Tere Naam Mein. One has hair and one has a spindle. The screenplay was speaking. Did I speak any dialogue in the second half? Have I done anything in the second half? Just like this…(Tere Naam Mein Kuch Nahi Tha (In the first part) I had hair and (in the second part) I was bald. (With my head bowed)?” Salman said.

Salman mentioned that the credit for the success of Tere Naam goes to the director, screenplay, writer, dialogues and plot of the 2003 film who made his character what it was. The superstar claimed that he has done “nothing” in the film.

During the same interview, the Bajrangi Bhaijaan star spoke about how actors often don’t get appreciated for the films they work hard in. Referring to Karan Arjun, the Maine Pyar Kiya actor shared that he too did not do much in Rakesh Roshan’s direction. He said that the other star actors in the 1995 film “worked” for him.

In Tere Naam, Salman Khan played the role of Radhey Mohan, a graduate but unemployed man. His romantic pairing was with the then budding actress Bhumika Chawla. Bhumika was cast as Nirjara, her college student and the daughter of a temple priest. The 2003 film also starred Sachin Khedekar, Ravi Kishan, Indira Krishna, Sarfaraz Khan and others.

Salman now has AR Murugadoss’s much-awaited film Sikandar. The upcoming action film will also star Rashmika Mandanna, Sharman Joshi, Kajal Aggarwal, Satyaraj and Pritek Babbar. It will release on Eid 2025.
