Salman Khan, who is now gearing up for his upcoming film Sikander, is not only a superstar but he is also a humanitarian. Salman is known for helping industry colleagues and common people. The Tiger 3 actor is also India’s first bone marrow donor. There was a time when the Bhaijaan of Bollywood had revealed about his earnings and said that he keeps only 10 per cent of his income with himself and donates a large part of it to charity.
During his old interview with Aap Ki Adalat, Salman Khan was asked to clarify if he keeps 10 per cent of his earnings and donates 90 per cent of it. Salman clarified the discussion by claiming that half of the rumour is true.
Salman said, “It is true that I only touch 10 percent of it. The rest of the money goes to charity, but it is not like 90 percent of it goes to charity. A lot of money goes to charity.”
The Tiger 3 actor elaborated on this and said that people think he has a lot of money. The superstar said that a lot of heart and cancer patients approach his foundation (a charitable trust). He said that his father, screenwriter Salim Khan signs a lot of cheques for treatment. Salman further revealed that he has to bear a lot of expenses and that is why he has started working even more.
For those who don’t know, Salman Khan is India’s first bone marrow donor. In 2010, he donated his bone marrow to a little girl named Pooja, who needed a transplant to survive. In an earlier interview with Bollywood Hungama, actor Suniel Shetty praised Salman’s selfless act, saying that he is “God’s favourite child”. Suniel referred to Salman as a person “who wants a change in society and hence God is kind to him”.
Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Salman Khan’s upcoming film Sikandar is set to release on Eid 2025. It also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Suniel Shetty.
