Throwback: When Diljit Dosanjh gave a funny reply to the question on whether Kiara Advani was ‘marriageable’, the actress blushed

Remember when the two Batra couples with the same surname got caught in a sperm mix-up situation during their respective in-vitro fertilisation? We are talking about Raj Mehta’s 2019 film Good Newwz. Starring Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kiara Advani and Diljit Dosanjh, the film is loved for its entertaining dialogues, performances from the star cast and funny turn of events. On that note, let’s take you back to the time when Diljit had shamed the actress over what made Kiara Advani a ‘marriage material’.

While speaking to Bollywood Hungama during the promotions of their film Good Newwz, Diljit Dosanjh and his co-stars Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and Kiara Advani took part in a rapid-fire round. Diljit was asked what makes Kiara the “perfect marriage material”.

Before he could answer, Akshay interrupted and asked the question again. The superstar asked the singer-actor to comment on a hypothetical situation of him taking Kiara home to introduce her to his mother for marital purposes.

Diljit said, “She is so cute. And they are all saying (pointing towards his co-stars), they are ready for the baby.” Kiara responded to this by saying, “We are clearly promoting good news here.”

Raj Mehta made his directorial debut with Good Newz in 2019. It was touted as the “biggest blunder of the year” upon release. Good Newz starred Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor as an aristocratic couple, Varun Batra and Deepti Batra, who live in Mumbai. Kiara Advani and Diljit Dosanjh played the Punjabi couple, Honey Batra and Monica Batra. The 2019 comedy entertainer also featured Adil Hussain and Tisca Chopra in pivotal roles.

Talking about work, Diljit Dosanjh is currently on a world music tour, Dil-Luminati. The singer will return to India in October for upcoming concerts in several Indian cities. As an actor, Diljit was last seen in Amar Singh Chamkila, directed by Imtiaz Ali, earlier this year. He played the lead role of the late folk musician in this biographical film.

On the other hand, Kiara Advani was last seen in Satyaprem Ki Katha in 2023. She has films like War 2 and Don 3 in the pipeline.
