Actress Deepika Kakkar has been battling stage 2 liver cancer since it was announced last year. The 39-year-old had it removed via surgery in June 2025 and has been recovering ever since. But last week she was diagnosed with a cyst in her stomach, which was causing pain and discomfort and, according to her husband Shoaib Ibrahim, she had to be admitted to the hospital for a minor procedure. She has since returned home and revealed details in a new vlog update on her YouTube channel.
Sharing how recurrence of a problem does not reflect well on a patient’s mind, she said, “This time, when I was going for the procedure, I was very anxious. I was crying a lot. The doctors calmed me down. This time, the procedure was not in the OT, it was in the CT room. It’s a procedure called RFA, where they burned away my cyst, and because it was so small, we were able to do it that way. If it had been bigger, the procedure would have been longer and more difficult."
The actress requested her viewers to pray for her speedy recovery.
