Destination weddings are one of the most celebrated days in everyone’s life. Nowadays, the influence of lavish weddings is showcased by high-profile ceremonies and extravagant celebrations. Leading global travel app Skyscanner has unveiled the latest survey titled “Destination ‘I Do'”, which shows a strong desire for destination weddings among Indians. 85% of them are either planning a destination wedding or have already done it. According to the report, Gen Z is leading the charge with 49% considering getting married at a luxurious destination, compared to 33% of millennials.

View on InstagramAccording to the report, Asia is the most preferred destination for destination weddings among Indians, with 48% of people looking for places like Thailand, Japan and Maldives. These places not only promise stunning backdrops but are also not heavy on the pocket. On the other hand, 31% of people are looking for romantic destinations in Europe like the UK, Spain, France and Italy.

While planning a perfect destination wedding, couples mostly look for places like Goa where they can get married on a dreamy beach, witness stunning and breathtaking views in Dubai and enjoy the tropical beauty in Bali and Bangkok.
When it comes to destination weddings, there are many options like beaches, royal palaces, beautiful mountains and more. The report states that 26% of Indians are looking for beach weddings, while 20% are attracted to royal palaces and others are attracted to the backdrop of beautiful mountains and private ceremonies.
