‘This is how actors talk’: When Ram Charan’s wife Upasana was shocked by father-in-law Chiranjeevi’s statement

Ram Charan is a true family man who shares a strong bond with the Konidela family, especially his father Chiranjeevi, his mother Surekha, his wife Upasana and his lovely son Klin Kara. After marriage, Upasana Konidela has also become an integral part of the family and shares an equally strong bond with her in-laws. Yes, you read it right! After the release of RRR, Ram Charan along with his co-star Jr NTR and filmmaker SS Rajamouli visited the US to attend the prestigious Golden Globes 2023 awards ceremony. In an interview, the Game Changer actor spoke about the success of the film and the impact it had on his career. RC also revealed how much attention his father Chiranjeevi pays to his looks.

During this conversation, Ram Charan said, “Dad has been an actor for 41 years, obviously he has his own opinion and sometimes it is quite strong. When you are a little out of shape… like my wife used to be surprised when we used to sit at the dinner table and my dad used to say, ‘I think you have lost weight’, and I used to say, ‘Yeah, dad…’ and he used to say, ‘I was just joking, idiot, you have gained so much weight, what are you doing, go to the gym.’ And my wife used to say, ‘Isn’t this physically abusive?’ And I told her, ‘Actors talk like this.'”

His father Chiranjeevi had insisted that Ram Charan should complete his education before joining showbiz. But eventually, RC said it became clear that he was only postponing the inevitable.

He said, “As usual, my studies were not going so well, and the dean of my college called my father and said, ‘I don’t think you should waste my and your son’s time, let him go to the college he wants to go to and do what he wants to do.’ That was when I left and went to acting school, and that’s where my journey began.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Ram Charan is all set for the release of S Shankar-directed Game Changer this Christmas. The film also stars Kiara Advani alongside him in the lead role.
