David Henrie, best known for playing Ted and Tracy’s son on the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother, revealed that it had become difficult for him to walk around in public as fans would surround him and ask him about the show’s ending plot.
Henry claimed he was bribed with free drinks when he went to a bar at the age of 21, but the actor kept the secret to himself. During his appearance on the George Janko Show podcast, Herney elaborated on playing the character and what it was like to keep an important secret for so long.
Speaking to the talk show host, Henry explained, “I remember, like, Season 6 or 7 or something — I was 21 by then and I’d go to a bar and people would be like, ‘We heard you know the ending!'” He added, “And they’d send me drinks to get me angry.”
The actor explained that fans of the show had to wait nine seasons to find out who Ted ends up with, but they already knew the secret because producers decided to shoot scenes for 90 more episodes during the second season. “They were like, ‘We need to (film) this baby as soon as possible. We need to shoot as many episodes as possible,'” the actor told the hosts.

Henry’s role in the sitcom was set in the year 2030, where he and his sister were sitting on the couch listening to their father’s story about how he met their mother. Ted was played by Josh Radnor on the show, but years later he was voiced by Bob Saget.
Meanwhile, speaking of singing on the NDA agreement, the Disney alum revealed, “We were on set and the two show runners came in, who created the show, and they’re like, ‘Everybody out! Everybody out!'” He confessed, “They left the camera rolling. They brought in NDAs, and Lindsie and I signed NDAs. And we were like, ‘What’s going on?'”
“And they say, ‘Well, we’ll tell you what we think the end of the show is. This is what they thought the end would be then. So they say, ‘We don’t know, we’re in Season 2, but we have to get back to Robin somehow.'”
The show ends exactly as the producers planned. After Tracy dies of a chronic illness on the show, Ted returns to Robin with a blue French horn. Episodes of How I Met Your Mother are available to stream on Disney+.
