‘There was a time when…’: Finn Wolfhard tells of ghost encounter on set of IT

Finn Wolfhard is known for his roles in horror films. Although the actor is used to scary backdrops and shadowy lighting, he recalled an incident from his childhood in which he encountered a ghost. Wolfhard played the role of a little boy in the 2017 film It.

While shooting on the sets, the young actor claimed that he saw a crew member working on the top floor of the building. However, upon enquiry, it was revealed that no one knew the worker nor had seen him on the set again.

While speaking with People Magazine, Wolfhard elaborated on his experience and claimed it to be a scary experience. “I’ve been in a lot of supernatural movies and TV shows, but ironically, I’ve never actually seen a full-on ghost,” the actor shared. He further added that “But there was a time when I was a kid and was shooting this In this abandoned mansion in Toronto, and I and a group of other artists were exploring the floors.”

The actor revealed, “We went to the top floor and there was a room where we saw a guy dressed in black working as an electrician, and we were like, ‘Okay, it’s just a crew member.’ But later, we found out that no one knew who he was, and no one ever saw him again.”

The Stranger Things actor shared that someone may have played a prank on him, but it was a scary experience. As for the actor’s horror movies and TV shows, Wolfhard has appeared in The Turning, The Addams Family. Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and Frozen Empire, to name a few.

In it, Finn played Richie Tozier, who, along with his group of friends, becomes terrorized by demonic activities happening around them, including a dancing clown portrayed by Bill Skarsgård.

As far as the film’s story is concerned, the synopsis reads, “Seven helpless and tormented children are forced to face their worst nightmare when Pennywise, a shape-shifting clown, reappears. The Joker, an ancient evil, torments children before feeding on them.

In addition to Wolfhard and Skarsgård, the film stars Sophia Lillis, Jaeden Lieberher, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Jeremy Ray Taylor.

It is available to stream on Netflix.
