The popular street food stalls of chai, chole bhature, rolls, gol gappas and more are often bustling with customers and seem to be making huge sales every day. Have you ever wondered if a food stall can earn you more income than your regular job? Well, to find the answer to this question, one vlogger decided to sell tea and find out how much money he could make in a day. The video, posted on Instagram by digital creator Sarthak Sachdeva, has been viewed more than 81 million times.
The vlogger starts selling tea in the morning with a tea shop owner. The price of one cup was Rs 10 and within the first one and a half hour of starting the business, they had sold 75 cups. By afternoon the count reached 166 cups. The afternoon was slow but sales increased again after 4 pm. Ultimately, after selling several cups of tea in the evening, he concluded the day by selling 317 cups of tea, earning around Rs 3,150 for the day, the vlogger shared. He said that this amount for a month would be Rs 1,10,000 and for a year it would be around Rs 12-14 lakh.
The viral video received mixed reactions from viewers:
“Well, it’s time to change career paths,” one Instagram user wrote. Another said, “I was going to study but I saw this reel.” Some people also tagged their friends and encouraged them to start a tea shop together.

However, many viewers argued that this is not the whole picture.
One wrote, “You can’t expect the same pace of earnings every day… and please stop comparing earnings with education.” Another said, “Bro doesn’t understand the difference between revenue and profit.”

One viewer argued, “Then all tea vendors Should have been rich? This clearly shows that this is not an everyday matter. This much revenue is not received every day. Maybe if you’re lucky, yes, but not every day.” Another person questioned, “What about the cost of plastic cups? What about car rental costs? What about other miscellaneous costs?”
